Vistas and Views Progressive Food Tour
Departs from LURE Restaurant & Bar inside the Delta Ocean Pointe Hotel — 100 Harbour Rd.
Reservations need to be made online in advance — no walk-ups.
Yes. We offer a full refund if you cancel more than 24 hours before your tour departure time. This policy is in place for two reasons: it gives us a chance to resell your tickets on tours that are regularly sold out, and we often need to order and pay for many of the tastings in advance. Inside 24 hours it is difficult to adjust these orders and costs are already incurred.
To cancel, please email [email protected] or text message (250) 893-9815.
Tours run rain or shine, so please bring an umbrella and appropriate clothing. There are no long stretches of time spent outside between tastings.
The Chinatown and Old Town Food Tour includes 6 tastings. They are sample sizes of the fare at each establishment, so they are not full meals. However, most guests feel like they’ve had a good amount to eat by the end, with approximately 1200–1400 calories across the tour. Many reviewers comment that they are “pretty full” by the end.
The Alleyways and Ales Craft Beer Tour includes 4 beer tastings and 3 small food tastings. It is recommended that you have a meal before attending this tour, as it is not intended to be a full meal on its own.
The Vistas and Views Food Tour is a full 3-course meal. We recommend arriving with an empty stomach for this tour.
If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know during the booking process or email us at [email protected] before your tour. We’ll work with our partners to accommodate you wherever possible.
Occasionally, alcoholic beverages are served, but these can often be substituted for non-alcoholic options. Many stops have gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan choices.
Due to health regulations, we can only accommodate service animals with official licensing.
All three tours cover roughly 2 km (about 1.5 miles), totaling approximately 30 minutes of walking at a leisurely pace. There are no more than a couple of blocks of walking at any one time before a break to eat or chat about history. The routes are flat and are wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Parking in downtown Victoria can be busy. We recommend using the city parkades at either Johnson Street or Bastion Square. You can download the ParkVictoria app to pay for spaces in any of the city lots (blue “P” signs).
These parkades are central to our tour route, making it a short walk to our start location at the Phillips Brewing Tasting Room and our finish location at the Inner Harbour. There are also a few private pay lots near Phillips between Chatham and Discovery Street, which can be good options for RVs.
The start location for the Chinatown & Old Town Food Tour is the Phillips Tasting Room, approximately a 40-minute walk or 10-minute taxi ride from the cruise ship terminal at Ogden Point. The finish location, at the Inner Harbour, is about a 25–30 minute walk or a 5-minute taxi ride back to the terminal.
The Alleyways and Ales Craft Beer Tour also starts at the Phillips Tasting Room. It is again about a 40-minute walk or 10-minute taxi ride from the terminal. The tour finishes in Market Square, which is about a 30-minute walk back to the terminal.
The Vistas and Views Food Tour starts at Lure Restaurant, about a 45–50 minute walk from the cruise terminal or a 15-minute taxi ride. It finishes at Vista 18 Restaurant, approximately a 30-minute walk back to the terminal.
Not at the moment. This may be something we offer in the future.
The Chinatown & Old Town Food Tour finishes at the Victoria Information Centre in the Inner Harbour, across from the Fairmont Empress Hotel. This is approximately a 10–15 minute walk back to the start location.
The Alleyways and Ales Craft Beer Tour finishes in Market Square, about a 5-minute walk from the start location.
The Vistas and Views Food Tour finishes at Vista 18 Restaurant, about a 15-minute walk from the start location.
Yes. The routes for all three tours are wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Tips are not included in the tour price, but they are greatly appreciated if you enjoyed the experience. Vendors are tipped by the guide, so there is no need to tip at each individual food stop.
Guides are happy to accept cash (including US Dollars) and also carry a Square reader if you would like to tip by credit or debit card.
Yes! Our partners were chosen because they are fantastic local businesses. You are welcome to purchase items for later or buy more of what you enjoyed on the tour. Many of our vendors also have excellent websites and will ship internationally.
Tours are currently offered in English only.
Yes. Private tours and parties are available. Please email [email protected] to arrange the details.

"If you do one thing in Victoria BC, take A Taste of Victoria Food Tours. Victoria BC has SO many locally owned and sourced foods that it's almost impossible to try them all. But you can make a dent on the #1 rated food tour in Victoria BC!" - The Way Away, Travel and Lifestyle
"Our day exploring Victoria’s food scene with A Taste of Victoria began at the city’s Public Market, something I didn’t even know existed. According to Andy, neither do many locals. Recently established in the old Hudson’s Bay building, the Victoria Public Market is based on the Chelsea Market in New York. Although not as big, Victoria’s market does impress. With its emphasis on supporting and showcasing Vancouver Island’s local farmers, bakers, brewers, and butchers, the Victoria Public Market is the freshest place to eat on the Island...." - Exploring A Foodie Weekend in B.C.'s capital, by Shaun Robertson, This Life in Trips See his excellent full-tour review here |
